I am new to the board but had to share my wedding bargain.
I ve just ordered my plain white traditional cake from m&s which was on 3 for 2 and ive also used the 15% m&s code which is valid today 12pm-2pm only. Ive got my whole wedding cake plus an extra one for just £79!
I saved £61
my purchase was an extra large fruit cake, an extra large sponge cake and a medium fruit cake!
order total should have come to £140!
had to share my good bargain news and hopefully it may help others who are on a budget for there wedding cake.
beats the £300 i was quoted to have one made thats for sure.
Just hope its nice cake now

It's not really - sorry.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

Now I disagree.
I really liked there fruit cake at a wedding recently. Didn't get to try the sponge as it was only a small sponge and it had all gone (maybe cos that was even nicer than the fruit!)Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

I have had both sponge and fruit from M&S, I prefer the sponge but then I am not overly fond of fruitcake. However I did have slice of fruitcake at a friend wedding where it was ordered from big cake company (Cost £400+) and it was really rank, even my mum said so and she loves a bit of fruitcake. I am active on 3 wedding forums and in all the discussions on M&S cakes not one has said the fruit cake is horrible.
So basically what I am trying to say is £70 odd quid for a cake with a layer that is possibly OK tasting rather than blinding is still a very good bargain! Very impressed and am sure it will be lovely, no one will notice or comment at all so don't worry about it.0 -
if its nice its nice if its not there will be lots left over to give to the people who come round me house who i dont like along with the cheap coffee i bought from aldi that tastes like grit, haa haa0
