In car DVD player - jumping

Hi guys,

last year I bought Bush In car DVD player for my friends who live abroad.

The DVD player started to "jump", basicaly if they drive over a speed bump or something the DVD suddenly jumps back to the beginning of the movie.

They already had it repaired once, but now it does it again and as it needs spare part they cannot have it repaired there again. So they asked me for help.

However I cannot find anything about technical support centre for Bush or anything, anyone can suggest what to do? It doesn't help that they don't have anything that comes with in a way of paperwork!! (and expect me to do miracles).

I have no idea what to do next. Do you think there are shops that repair things like these? I don't know about any, what should I look for (what to google, under DVD repair nothing useful comes up)?

Frankly, your friends are asking you to do the impossible.

Bush sell these Far East-made units with no expectation that anyone will ever repair them when they break.

If your friends can tell you the exact model number, you may get lucky by searching for that - the maker will have used a generic part in it, and their model may appear in a big list of applications for that part.

Otherwise, the only reliable way would be to check for part numbers on the failed part and search the internet for that.

TBH the better approach would be to ship the unit back for you to exercise your rights under the SOGA against whoever you bought it from.

I have the unit now, but I haven't got the receipt. I bought it from Argos, but the only thing to prove it with would be my credit card statement print off..
  • Hey,

I've also had alot of trouble with the same model.

I bought an Xtrons TD714G i searched google and found a website selling all sorts of car stereos for cheap.

and the quality is really good for the price, they are touch screen, dvd player, gps built in, radio, bluetooth.. lots of features.

I got a stereo for £220, with a free £55 sygic GPs map, and got it next day delivery, had no problems so far and it does come with a 1 yr replace/repair warranty.

I got mine from here: WWW . caraudiopoint.co.uk/index.php?option=com_rokecwid&Itemid=75#ecwid:category=1440056&mode=product&product=5780520
