Duty free allowance

Hi

I wonder if somebody can just clarify the duty free allowance for travel from the USA to the UK. I think it is 200 cigarettes per person?

Also is that each way or total?

Thanks

Nope it is only 200. If you plan to smoke 200 whilst you're out there then by all means buy 200 each way but you can only land back in the UK with 200. I don't know what the score is if you buy them domestically out there (tax paid).

thats an interesting point actually - you would think you shouldn't get double taxed

The score is the goods have not bourne duty in the UK/EU and therefore are taxable
