cheaper way to get to stoke on trent by train???

i have a senior rail card so can get an off peak period return from bognor regis to stoke on trent for around £53.00.

is there a cheaper way??? not via london maybe??? or splitting tickets??

i cant book ahead of travel, as i wont know when i am going til the last minute.

any advice gratefully received. thanks.

    Yes, there is a cheaper way.

    An Off Peak Return with Senior Railcard from Bognor to Milton Keynes via Kensington Olympia is £22.25. May need to change at Barnham and Clapham Junction.

    A Super Off Peak Return from MK to Stoke on London Midland Trains only with Senior Railcard is £11.20.

    So total could be only £33.45 that way.

    The above assumes you are not returning the same day.
    If you are returning the same day, and can plan a week ahead, there are other cheaper options so post again.
