eBay's pathetic action and policy

Few years back, I bought some items from a Louis Vuitton store in Birmingham. Then last night, I decided to sell the carrier bags that came with the Louis Vuitton purchases. I listed one carrier bag to start with on the eBay site, then this morning I received a message from eBay to say they have removed my listing. I was shocked and angry!

The reason they gave me is my listing has breached their brand protection policy. I have no idea why the carrier bag would have breached the brand protection policy. It is an original authentic carrier bag that I got from a Louis Vuitton store. I have no idea what is wrong to sell a designer's carrier bag on eBay.

I reckon the eBay staff have nothing to do in the office, so they just picked my listing by randomly and removed it.

well p off here!

LV have very strict rules about VERO - they don't like their items being sold on eBay because they debase the brand and are usually, if not always, fakes.

eBay have enough trouble with fake LV items and they can't be sure your item isn't fake, and to reduce their liability for fake items sold on their site they have to take a strict line on this. Therefore they allow LV to complain about their items being sold. Selling on eBay isn't an inalienable right - you have to obey their policies.

If you relist your item you will put your account in jeopardy.

  • but still, if you now do a search on eBay, there are currently hundreds of Louis Vuitton items for sale or for bidding on the site. Surely eBay cannot apply one rule to me and another rule to the others. Besides I bet eBay still charges me for the listing fee after they removed my listing. It's a real rip off!

I think that it's a conspiracy against you personally.
Or maybe the others haven't been brought to the attention of ebay yet.
  • Just did a search on eBay for 'Louis Vuitton Carrier Bag', and guess what? I found someone is already selling one on the eBay site. That really annoys me more now! Why does life have to be so difficult??

If your main worry in life is that you can't list some carrier bags on ebay your life isn't hard and you really need some perspective

I agree with the stance personally, Louis Vuitton carrier bags must be exceptionally useful to all the counterfeit sellers out there desperate to try and make their fake tat look legitimate.

There are a plethora of drivers breaking the speed limit. Doesn't make it legal.

you have no idea on how ebay works do you.

their policies are their to protect users from counterfeit goods and to make sure that copyright is not infringed.

ebay do not trawl their site picking on listings they rely on other users reporting suspicious listings and then will take action. so it looks like someone has reported your listing and ebay have taken action. it may have been LV themeselves under Vero, which as they are the copyright owners ebay must remove the listing by law.

well said, and motorway speed limit is 70mph, why would car manufacturers produce vehicles which can run higher than the speed limit? because there is always an exception and a leeway. there are so many opportunities and possibilities to lead to any illegal actions. there is no way eBay can stop that. if that is really what eBay is concerned about, the best thing for them to do is to close the site altogether. no road = no cars = no speeding, based on your theory...
