Can my bank discuss my credit report with my husband

My husband recently applied for a loan to consolidate my husbands credit cards and was turned down, we have a joint account.
The bank had called me to ask if it was ok to proceed as they need my permission to credit search me for a joint account, so I said thats fine.
We were declined, when my husband asked why, they said that his credit report came back fine but there were some problems with mine.
Can they do this?
How much information can they share?

You agreed for the bank to do a credit check.0 -
They can say that which they did do. thats all.
as you applied for a joint product then you've created a link (financial link) so although the dpa protects you they will still talk to either/or and saying that a fault with the credit agency is not a breach cos its giving him an idea what to look for. basically he be better applying for a loan on his own.
good luck in getting it sorted out.0 -

Yes they can if you agreed to the search and both applied for a joint account then there will now be a financial link between the two of you.0
