Cigarette prices South Africa

Hi guys,

I'm off to South Africa soon, and I'm finding that everyone seems pretty shy about revealing the cost of cigarettes in their Duty-Free shops!

Departing Heathrow - arriving Johannesburg - then leaving Cape Town to Heathrow on South African Airways.

So my question is - how much for 200 Marlboro Red?
a.) Heathrow
b.) on board South African Airways
c.) in there an arrival shop at Johanessburg? And how much there?
d.) actually in South Africa?

I've seen Marlboro Gold at $25 on SAA's catalogue - but only as a little note at the bottom of a page.

If you are actually staying in SA then get your cigs at 'Pick and Pay' 'Spar' or someother supermarket, they are much cheaper there than in any airport in SA. I cant remember how much OH paid for his cigs but they were cheaper. We also got some in Macro which was in a shopping centre just outside Magaliesburg. Hope this helps you.

marmitepotato is quite right about the price of cigs in S.A. [about half the price of UK] if you buy there you can pack them in the hold luggage the limit for cigs bought in non eu country is 400 pp

Isn't the limit from outside the EU 200 cigarettes?
