    run through the steps in the thread i said about https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2436849= just to make sure there is no infection.

    once you have done the steps in the above to rule out any infection or other problems run this http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ as a starting point if you have to use IE
    Drop a brand challenge
    on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
    30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    Once you have Firefox working, use it to download latest version of Win Explorer?

    Or go for a restore point as prev suggestion.

    This ->
    The message that I get is a box with 'Internet Exporer has stopped working'

    Then it says that a problem has caused explorer to stop working, then it just shuts down

    ...plus this ->
    ...when I googled firefox I just kept clicking and it kept taking me to a different page!
    ...is indicative of a possible infection. In that case, System Restore or installing another browser won't solve it. It's in your best interests to try to solve the problem.

    Whether you use a different browser or not, problems with Internet Explorer should be fixed as it's possible other programs or Operating System functions may rely on it to work properly themselves.
