I have an Acer Iconia A500, delighted with it, though a bit slow on the updates. I went for it for connectivity, might have gone for the Asus Transformer but got a very good offer for the Iconia, got it off Ebay, price has gone down even lower now but it would have been too late for me to get it any later than I did. Transformer battery is better, but Acer is OK, not really recorded how long it lasts TBH, just keeps going as long as I need it to.
Would suggest you go somewhere like Curry's digital and have a play with a few. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
most peoples thoughts are that flash is actually no issue on the ipad because most of the main sites that use it, for example iplayer etc, have their own app,
have you popped into a apple store (or another place) and had a play on one, that would give you a better idea if these things will actually be an issueDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Samsung Galaxy Tab. If Apple are spending a lot of money trying to get sale of it banned in Europe and other markets you can be sure its a damned good machine.0

Which one are they trying to get banned?0

Argh, i wrote a reply but it got lost when i hit post.
Basically get the ipad2. Flash is nice but you can live without it. I have a HP Touchpad which has flash and whilst it's nice, in practice it can be a bit cumbersome on a tablet. For example on Youtube videos, the buttons are a bit small meaning constant zooming in/out. Try explaining to your 4 yr old why you can't play miniclip games (because there's no keyboard)
Android tablets are coming in leaps and bounds. Some have better hardware. Android Honeycomb is looking really good. None however have the full package like Apple. It has the breadth of applications, the hardware looks gorgeous. Screen is stunning and backed up by 1st class customer service. No other tablet comes close and that's why they have like 90% of the market.0 -

I looked at all the available tablets before buying the Asus Transformer a few months ago and I'm delighted with it. Flash wasn't a major issue for me (however, it's a bonus - better with than without), but the lack of a memory card slot was. The Transformer's in daily use, gets regular updates, the keyboard dock is fantastic and gives the flexibility of not only having a proper keyboard when you need it, but doubles the battery life and provides (between tablet and dock) two memory card slots, 2 USB ports and an HDMI output. The hardware quality is excellent too, as is the display. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
