Texts from Halifax and LLOYDSTSB

Options
I guess this is part of what their system update was upgrading over the weekend.

I am a Halifax customer and received a text from 'Halifax' warning me of being near my limit (I don't have an overdraft and balance is 0.01) which was unexpected but useful I guess! This isn't my main bank account anyway.

Then I received another text from LLOYDSTSB (I'm not a customer) saying I could text a shortcode to receive mini statements!

I don't think they quite managed a fully hiccup free integration of Halifax and Llloyds TSB, at least not where the texts are concerned.

Anyone else receive the same kind of texts?

At least it is progress :)

When I signed onto my HBOS this morning, it asked me to confirm my mobile & home telephone numbers. I done this and straight away got a text from BANKOFSCOT just a confirmation saying I had updated details, hope I don't start recieving unwanted texts!

You can probably opt out of receiving texts from them.

I guess the IT people at HBOS/LLOYDSTSB flicked the ON switch for this texting capability last night!
  • I actually like the text messages, they are free and warn me when my account balance is low and about to go into overdraft so I can move money across to avoid this. ;-)

Yeah I don't think I will need the txt messages, I know myself when my account is low as I check banking everyday, I don't have an overdraft so don't have worry about that.
Sure there will be a way I can opt out of them if need be
