payment being processed

Sold 2 items last night and for the first time ever I've got the "egg timer" symbol against both in my Sold list, which means "payment was initiated on 11 Sept and is being processed by Paypal".

Is it just coincidence that I have 2 together or could there be a problem within either EBay or Paypal ? Anyone else seen this ?

Thanks

Linda xx

  • They have paid by a cheque or card that EBay cannot process straight away. Do not send untill the date as instructed and check to make sure cleared before hand. These are quite common if you sell regular.

I've gone into Paypal but can't see the payment - should it show as being processed or will it only appear once cleared ?

Is there a fixed time limit for these payments to clear or does it vary ?

I'm not fussed, they are only little Smurf figures from McD's (people will buy anything nowadays :D)

    Thanks for your help. :T

  • The buyer has paid by Echeque, it takes about 7 working days to clear, or did last time I got payment by this means.

Double check you put the right email on your listing for payment. If its items you have not sold since the last time you had a different email address it sometimes reuses the last details input in that category be it one you used 4 years ago!

I would also send a message to the buyers saying their payment will not clear for a few days. They will probably not know it is an echeque.

Oh, I didn't know that. What determines whether it's an instant payment or echeque ?

    Thanks

I think instant payment only happen if you have money in the account to cover it. or you have a debit / credit card registered as well
