Around 5700-5800 for me, the fair weather investors will be back in October following an already nice bounce back from the sub 5000 low.

To be unique, I had a choice between 4400 and 6000+. Being an optimist, I went for the latter. I don't believe it for one minute, but it is our duty to distort polls like this.

I get many so-called 'surveys' by e-mail. I like to answer them with all the answers they don't want to hear. I did one today, in fact, with a bank. I rated the telephone service "zero" and when I got a narrative box to explain why, I said "When the call eventuated, I found it very confabulate and dismaintorned with the operand vocificating tymborically towards spoke."

6000 is possible. If they do QE3 then why not, if they half the value of currency then we can see FTSE double.

Anything is possible, thats why share graphs increasingly look like a Richter scale during an earthquake.

4200 on the other hand requires a strong currency ?

'Anything could happen in the next half hour'.

With 85 half hours in a trading week and like 6 weeks to go, I reckon we might find a more grounded price then now with no excuses of low volume, etc

The end of cheap money will hurt profits
That could be the perception but the surprise over time could be how cheap money gets compared to when the loan was originally taken.
I presume this helps debtors repay without trouble.

Put it this way, start of year I expected rates must rise by December. Now I hear Mervyn will probably print more money, events are entering the surreal

Not that's it's important, but I'm just curious.

Just him. He came with a halo, crown of thorns and a white toga in a vision of beauty rising above me. In a booming, yet calm, voice he said, "Cleaver. The answer is 5012. Remember that yet another pensions magazine will come through the post next week." and then he floated away.

It depends whether Greece defaults before 25th November. I'll take a guess it will be after that date, but the market will become increasingly jittery as the inevitable approaches, so will go for 4800.
