It is what it is. A 50% was offered then withdrawn, I disputed the full and disputed the 50% - my question was about the period allowed to pay and whether I had exceeded it or could still just pay it and move on? It is not about liability or responsibility.
Really some of you are tools! Answer a question, or dont?! But this need to show how clever and wordy you are is dull.
Who asked for the work to be done? Or did they approach you and you agree for it to be done?
Our of curiosity, what was the service? I'm thinking it was perhaps telesales or related...
I you beleive the work wasn't actually done, then 'when' is very relevant -- you would want to find out what day/time work was undertaken and by what means.0 -
I hate people who ask a question, then get all arsey, because the don't like the answer.0

Hi, no. Does not relate, I am just working through various issues as they arise to try to get many things fairly sorted BUT i am not Rockafella.

Check out the Late Payment terms here ----> http://www.berr.gov.uk/files/file37581.pdf
That is misleading. The Late Payment Act applies in B2B transactions only.0 -

Not the case at all. Appreciate all answers, do not appreciate the smart !!!! sanctimonious BS from some (usually the same constant lurkers)
Wealdroam, agreed they are a similar fit but it is a different invoice I can assure you. Again, any help (as is the nature of the forum) or just some self-gratification in the Sherlock Holmes front? :T0 -

Surely you can see that it is difficult to give a specific answer without the detail... or even an overview.
Anyway, for what its worth, I would just pay the first bill without any reference to even having seen the second bill.0 -
Just pay the 50% as agreed. If he wants the rest, he'll have to take you to court, won't he. I can't help thinking that had you not procrastinated for nearly a month, this would be all sorted by now."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Sorry Wealdroam, users do need need the full sp. It was a simple question and I have had, amongst the bollox, some good advice which I have looked into. So now I have the answer that is right, without being necessarily the one I would have wanted. Some really helpful people on here, when you can wade through the d**k measures!
Pay 1st bill (50% off), yes I agree. Thank you.0 -

Some truth in that fluffnutter, but I get there in the end0 -
