Problem using Virgin broadband on 2 PCs

Wonder is someone can help me.

I unplugged the ethernet cable from my PC (running XP) to see if I could plug it into an older PC running Vista to see if it would connect to the Internet - to my surprise it seemed to work with Windows creating 'Network 2'.

So i powered off and put the ethernet back in to my original PC - it will now not connect to the internet 'network did not assign a network address to the computer - limited or no connnectivity...'

Help!

  • - plug the ethernet back into the original PC
    - take the power supply out of the back of the modem for a minute or so
    - put the power back into the modem
    - boot the original PC up
