  • I thought prices were going up on the 13th - meaning meter readings to be submitted tomorrow night.
  • Why have we to submit our meter readings

I may have date 1 day out but in submitting readings you are ensuring you are paying current rate on latest use as opposed to possibly paying more after increase if estimated

As I reported before, when my FixOnline 8 expired on 1st July 2011, I submitted readings on both 1st July and then 2nd July, when I switched to SaveOnline 8.

The 1st August statement then used THEIR estimated readings for 2nd July as a demarcation point for FixOnline 8 and SaveOnline 8.

The difference in the bill was less than £1, so it wasn't that my readings were wildly beyond expectation. I only submit out of dogged persistence, not because it does any good.

every penny counts is the way I look at it, submit readings monthly any way so I can keep track of my use of gas and electric and cut back even more if I have too, not that there is much left I can cut back on power wise now

  • Just a quick heads up guys.

To make sure meter readings submitted online are used on accounts, you'll need to use the Real Time Billing function. If you select the option to request a bill, this will utilise the readings entered. Otherwise, readings will just be recorded for reference.

The exception is if accounts are in the billing window (14 days either side of the billing date for quarterly accounts). Readings entered during this time automatically generate a bill.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you. That clarifies everything.

I expect the Usage bar graph uses the submitted readings, so it's still worth doing just for my own records.
