This is a really stupid question but how do I know how much hard disk space a netbook has ? I am looking to sell mine so want to advertise the correct spec. I think I have the other details just not sure on the hard disk.
If I right click on C: then properties it gives a capacity of 99.9gb but I was thought it was more than this when I bought it.
I also have which states a capacity of 183gb. Do I add this together ?
It seems an odd number either way. I had a vague recollection of it being 250gb but that doesn't ring true with either of the above.
Help !
Thanks.

Click on start / run and type "compmgmt.msc"
Click on disk management on left hand side
This should tell you if your drives are partitioned and the rough size of them
Mine shows 1 partition and 55.5gb (its a 60 gb hard drive)0 -

Hard drives always show a smaller formatted capacity than their stated size. It sounds like you may have a 320Gb drive split into two volumes - C: and .
If it's a standard model, you can probably just find its specifications on the web, assuming you don't have any paperwork from when you bought it, saying what it had.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Thanks - but still really confused ! I don't have the net book with me so can't run anything to check. How can it be 320gb if I have 100gb (thereabouts) and 183gb ? Total of 283gb ? Unfortunately already tried looking for spec online and can't find it. Don't have any manuals.0

320GB is the amount of space before its formatted (I have a 1000GB drive but can only use 932GB)0

A hard drive will always show a smaller capacity as Victor states.
Do you know the make and model ?0 -
there is never the same stated amount of storage on a hdd as the disk manufacturers and windows measures it in a different way - the makers measure in true MB/GB, i.e. 1 GB = 1024 MB, but wiindows uses 1 GB = 1000 MB, so plus the overhead (as mentioned above) windows will report, in your case, nearer 285GB rather than 320GB.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Thanks all - found it now ! It is indeed 320gb.
Thanks again.0
