Hi I've been looking at different sites today as my son wanted me to pre-order the new Fifa 12 game for xbox thats out later this month and I came across this on the HMV site Fifa 12 12 Month Gold Membership & 800 Points for £39.99

Most of the other sites seem to be around £40 for just the game, hope i've read it right seems to good to be true!!

Reads to me like it may just be a 12 months gold + 800 ms points which is branded with FIFA 12. But doesn't include the game.

Thank you very much for starting this thread.
I made the purchase this morning then happened across this info,
I emailed HMW support;

In one email response I was told that it does include the game
In another email I was told that it does not include the game.

So I rang up the helpdesk and asked the same question and they told me that it DOES NOT include the game itself.

I have cancelled my order AND am going to write to HMW at

To complain about the misselling on their advert AND that their customer services need further training. I would suggest that anyone else that has bought this item also does the same.

It's not clear at all, it was only after the post below the OP that made me realise it didnt include the game too!

Am very annoyed at this and have sent HMV customer support an email pointing out that this is missadvertising and I want an explenation.
Am also going to report it to ASA http://www.asa.org.uk/

Dont usualy get this worked up BUT its ridiculous that they use a brand name to push a completely other product!!!!

They have done the same with Gears of War 3, to the point that in Tesco at their midnight launch of the game on monday night, they had gears of war 3 branded 12 months live + 2 months free, the staff thought it was the game with live for £35! I had previously seen this advertised and made sure no one bought it thinking it was the game!

Just for everyones info I have made an official complaint to the Advertising standards Agency as per link in previous post. If anyone else has the time then do the same.
Its ridiculous how they think they can get away with it.

I think to save any confusion on promoting these "other products" the advert should clearly state that there is NO GAME INCLUDED as it is misleading

This is getting quite ridiculous. I just received another email from HMV customer support saying that the game is included.
So far from HMV I have
> 2 emails saying the FIFA12 game is included
> 1 email saying the FIFA12 game is not included
> 1 phone call saying the FIFA12 game is not included
Can anyone else better that?

So depending on who you speak to or who picks up the support email you are told the game is either included or not. I suppose if you get something in writing from their support team saying the game is included they would have to honour it.
