Yes they mean you haven't paid the contracted amount. I am not sure regarding adding to the debt once the defaults have been issued. Perhaps others may know.
The point about going through CCCS or Payplan, is that they take all of this hassle off of you. If you now have the money to enter into the plan it may still be worth looking at. These to debt companies don't charge anything, but they are well respected with creditors, and generally it seems that creditors are more likely to freeze interest/ stop adding charges, if they are involved.

Thanks for that chevalier - I wasn't sure about the adding on because, like I mentioned, a few people have said to me they can't but I've not been able to verify it. I have managed to get the interest stopped on 90% of the debts myself - it's just the latest few that I am having problems with.
Best - I would love to do a full time job but my husband is on long term sick - maybe getting DLA dependant on how ill they think he is (which judging by their criteria means absolutely at deaths door). He has had 5 strokes in the last couple of years and I have to be at home to look after him - so I do a part-time job instead.0 -
are you recieving carers allowance for your husband?

I can't get carers until he gets DLA - and its dependant on what level of DLA - if it's medium or high rate then I'll get it - if it's low rate then I won't.0

Actually has he had an assessment from social services? If so theres direct payments that can be made, do look into this if he needs round the clock care. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
