    You've set you sights far too high, like a learner who's just passed wanting a Bentley or a Ferrari.

    If your bank turns you down (pretty likely given your short employment) then you'll have to start with a Crapital One, Barclaycard Initial or even the dreaded Vanquis.....you need to build a history and to do that, you can't start at the top. The cards you're talking about would need at LEAST 18-24 months good solid payment history on other CCA agreements.

    Your file won't show a rejection, merely that a credit search was made.
    They've got no business making a hard search unless the application passes all their other criteria. There's no need for it if they're going to reject the application anyway.

    Agreed, if OP was rejected on a 'policy rule'.

    However, CSAs sometimes speculate, when asked, as to the reason for rejection. Obviously if OP received the reason in writing (unlikely?) then that's different.
