Nail colour for wedding

            Yes go for the purple!
I got married 4 years ago aged 39 .
I was given a great tip to moisturise your hands like mad in the run up to the big day, because my photographer persuaded me to have some hand shots of our two hands intertwined with our rings on.
I moisturised my hands every night and they do look really good in the photos ( I had a french gel manicure then )
Congratulations to you both, have a wonderful day.

Although I love the idea of purple, personally I'd go for something pale/neutral/plain with clear gloss. The reason being pure practicality - if the purple chips on any finger it could look quite disastrous in the photos, it's be stressing you out all day having to look at it/hide it, or you'd have to worry about having the polish there for touch-ups, which could result in even more accidents with wet polish!
So to avoid stress on such a great day, i'd personally avoid the purple, but then I do tend to worry about silly things like that when most other people probably don't

Purple - or pale pearlised grey/silver if you want a more neutral base.
Add a couple of stars in either silver or purple on the outside edge of each nail as a contrast as well.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I would get purple, but then I love brightly coloured nails.
If you want something a bit 'softer' but still purplish OPI do a colour called Meet Me On The Star Ferry which could work nicely."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Definately go for the purple - it sounds like what you want anyway and remember, people will be looking at your hands because of your ring0

How about purple toe nails and a silvery french manicure for your hands? When i got married last year my toes matched my crimson roses and my fingers were a creamy shell colour, they look fab in the photos.
Good luck for the big day!0 -
How about a purple manicure, instead of french. Just add a stripe of purple on the tips.
Or you can get striping tape and add just a small pattern.
google some images and see what takes your fancy0 -
I'd certainly have purple toe nails.
Otherwise, what are your hands like? If they are beautiful and you are bold of nature, why not go for purple, if they are average or you are like me, a bit clumsy, no way would I draw attention to them before a photo that was going to be kept was taken: I'd reak a nail and regret it, where as a neutral nail (personally I'd go for a flattering shell poink over french manicure or more fasionable neutrals...sometimes the greys/silvers/baiges making people look a little ill!) woin't cause the same stress level over a minor detail.
If it were me, of those two options it wouldn't be purple.0 -
How about a metallic lilac? Sort of somewhere between the two? Otherwise I'd go for the purple.
ETA - if you are going on honeymoon, metallic lilac looks fab with a tan
. Can you tell I wear it lol? Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0
