HI
I think my chimney may be blocked with a birds nest.
I can call the sweep to sort it out for me, but is there an MSE way for me to remove the nest myself (from inside, as can't climb on the roof!!)??
thanks!

I have had to do this several times so, yes, it is possible.
Get yourself some chimney sweeping rods and a brush. I also have hook attachment that I made for pulling stuff down. Be warned, it makes a hell of a mess and I'd advise fitting a chimney guard to stop it happening again.0 -

Thanks, Gloomendoom. That's really helpful...can you tell me a bit more about how you made your hook attachment!

Drain rods - and a nest hook is what you need....google nest hook, as above very messy job and depending how much there is up there, bloody hard work too.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Actually it it is nothing more than a couple of 6" nails hammered into a piece of wood at an angle and then duct taped to the end of the rods.
You can get the rods from Toolstation or Screwfix0
