Just about all providers offer a joint current account.
The question is, what do you want it to do?
How do you intend to use it?
How much a month will go through it?
How much will stay in it?
Choosing a provider - I can see advantages in sticking with HSBC for convenience. If £1,000 a month is going through it consider Halifax for the fiver or Lloyds TSB for the 3% interest if a decent balance is being maintained too. If service matters, they usually say First Direct (and this gets you access to the 8% regular saver account).
Choosing the type of account - sometimes a fee paying account provides individual benefits to both of you. So the value for money aspect of something that insures you against breakdown, mobile phone failure, the perils of going on holiday etc is greater.0 -
If you both are happy with HSBC then why not open a joint account with them?
If not try any other bank but you will probably both need to attend a branch at the same time with your ID.0 -
well
if HSBC is your only bank a/c I would open a new one elsewhere
useful to have two debit cards with different banks especially when travelling but anyway incase there is ever a problem with HSBC0
