Can an old Sky+ box be used to view freeview channels
Does it need a Sat input or is it possible to view simply using ariel connection?

It needs a dish, but should work with freesat

Sky is a satellite broadcaster, the box needs a dish.
It will not record or playback stored programmes without a Sky subscription.
Without a subscription you will be able to view some Freesat from Sky free to air channels. To see them all you have to purchase a Freesat from Sky viewing card for around £25.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Freeview is a terrestial service received via an aerial. But as advised above, you can use the box to get Freesat from Sky, assuming that you have a dish and LNB.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
