Newer high mileage or older lower mileage car - Help!

I'd also be looking for less mileage but the newer car is the better choice given the small price difference.0

The question you should be asking is not mileage but HOW the miles have been done............a car thats done 150k miles on a motorway is more likley to be in better nick that a car thats done 120k through towns etc as the wearing of the Gearbox/clutch etc will be far greater......
And anything over a 100k on a petrol car is high....on a desiel is just run in!If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Any evidence that car 1 has not been clocked? Nice pile of MOT certs, matching the more recent online records.0

When I see 54 plate old shape 3 Series' I think "why didnt yoiu buy a new shape"
Anyway, i'd always chose the newer car regardless of mileage.
I'll echo that, age kills mileage seldom does.. Kiss of death on my car after saying that
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Bought a high-mileage mondeo as my last car, it'd done 75,000 at 18 months old and was a great price. Only now, 11/12 years later is it really showing its age - I wouldn't hesitate getting another high-mileage one.0

Car 2, definitely, in my opinion.
80K miles on a BMW is nothing, and at an average thus far of 20,000 a year it's invariably been motorway mileage, plus you have full BMW Main Dealer Service History which suggests it's been maintained and repaired regardless of expense.
Personally, I've got a 241,000 mile 5 series that clocked up 228,000 of those miles in 2 owners and 14 years. However, I also got a full service history with it (first owner was main dealer, second was BMW Independent) and it has proven extremely reliable - I am delighted with it.
BMWs are durable vehicles and will last a long time if looked after and serviced properly (a BMW Independent can save significant sums over the main dealer, by the way).
The important thing to remember is that a £25k car will always have a £25k car's maintenance and servicing needs - it doesn't suddenly get a £5k car's maintenance needs just because the screen price is lower due to age!0 -
Send me the link and I'll buy it myself . . £5600 on an 07 seems cheap ...0

Would it be untoward of me to say that the later one seems quite cheap to me, by about £1k?
If it's all cosher, then for that price i'd snap the '07 model up without a hesitation, but only if it is.0 -
Now we're talking. Is the new shape possibly a Cat-C or a Cat-D?0

You'd think, but I didn't want to suggest that, i've already been flamed once today for being a "troll"
This is currently the cheapest 2007 BMW 3 series on PH classifieds at he moment being sold by a dealer...

I would check and double check the history of the car, but for all we know the OP has been offered a good deal, price lowered because of finance perk for dealer or perhaps there is a trade in deal being done? But as a standalone price it's cheap.0
