I got two tins last night from my sainsburys was hoping for the tomato but they only had chicken or mushroom, got one of each with some other shopping. Thanks for this, something else to add to the stock cupboard for the winter :-)0

I think the party's over re soup coupons at Tesco! I have been getting a tin or two for the past few days with the coupons but when I went in this morning the coupons would not be accepted. The CS said she wasn't sure why but those coupons were no longer being accepted. Oh well, it was good while it lasted!
Not sure if this is true, but unless they have specific instructions they can be entered manually.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Maybe the cs was just having an off day but I thought it was a bit strange. I will go back in this afternoon and see what happens. If they are not accepted I will ask for a fuller explanation of why. I think I just got embarrassed when she said I couldnt use the coupons and didnt push it.0

There have been quite a few people report that internet vouchers aren't being accepted at T's due to misuse
Even the Unilever ones people are having problems with and especially the soup ones now...0 -
not surprised when some people have to take the proverbial and get 56 cans of soup. it's not MSE in my opinion, it is rather greedy and unfair and means the rest of us cannot take partTrying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

well its not surprising with people being so greedy......all that will happen is they will soon stop taking internet coupons.0

Just as a comment on your post, I too have noticed on a number of T threads, that there are the same offenders (1 in particular) that do qualify for hoarding excessive quantities.
However, the other side of the coin that I have seen argued, is that such individuals are perfectly entitled to how many they want or can afford of any of the particular item in question - and posters who may refer to the quantities in question are often swiftly told to "mind their own business".
My own view, like your own, is everything in moderation, then stores won't take the hump, and all may continue to benefit and enjoy such discounts/offers for the longterm.
As a side issue ... I happened to catch the very end of "extreme couponing" on Sky last night ... blimey the woman had, amongst other mulitple nos of other items, box after box of hot sauce (why on earth she would want the quantities in question, apart from them being free of course, is baffling ... which I think is the point you are making) .... She also had shelves filled in her garage with copious amounts of coupon cereal and other consumer goods/items - the stores themselves seemed to celebrate that she "bought" over 2k of goods, but ended up with them owing her $56 or so ... (how funny ... I am def watching next time its on ... might pick up a few tips ...!!!)

if people continue to abuse the coupons by getting lots of the "free" goods on offer, then the manufacturers will simply stop producing them.people like myself will lose the benefit of saving a few pounds off my weekly shop because of the pure greed of others clearing the shelves and then worse than that, selling them on on e-bay by the truck load!!!! we all love a bargain certainly, but get a grip and stop abusing it!!!! and before i get a comment about minding my own business,it is going to effect everyone when the coupons are pulled through being abused so unashamedly0

I totally agree with all the above-there is enough for all to share so why do some just go bonkers and grab the lot-soon there will be no more coupons given if it continues every time there is a promo.0 -
Coupons have been going on for decades and they won't stop. Might get a bit stricter from time to time - but not stop. I am stocking up on a number of items at present because Stebiz HQ is in a Credit Crisis and is doing an 'Osborne' and paying off any credit he has.
So stocking up on the likes of soup - bearing in mind we are getting into winter isa no brainer. Had it twice this week with lovely fresh bread. Went down a treat in our house.
Tonight treating ourselves with Gammon and Egg/Pineapple with chips.:D
Back on the subject Tesco an hour ago were happy to take £10 of coupons off a £12 shop - including SoupAsk me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0
