  • thanks savingholmes i think he has done he seemed a bit more positive last night so fingers crossed.

Ive just sent an email to chase up my £30 cashback for switching through moneysupermarket and ive heard that ive been accepted for a Co-op account :T they are sending out some paperwork and i need to switch at least 2 DD's and pay in at least £800 and they will credit my account with £200 within 4 months of opening - Not bad :)

The plan is to keep my old account and carry on getting my wages paid in there, set up a s/o to new account and transfer all my DD's and SO's to new account that way i have a little pot of money in the old account to divide between the debts as needed, when i have cleared the overdraft (only small). Hopefully it will make things a bit clearer separating the payments from the overdraft.

Went shopping last night i went to Tesco for a change as it was too late for lidl/aldi and i had a £4.50 voucher.I wasnt impressed to be honest everything seemed so expensive and they had run out of value stuff like babywipes i did manage to get my sons christmas present hald price though and BOGOF chicken breasts so not too bad, im blaming hubby for the overspend this week as i gave in and bought him some hula hoops and after eights Total spent £59.55 and ive got enough in the last untill at least Thursday 27th with tops ups of bread/milk/tinned tomatoes so not too bad, but i wont be going back until i have another voucher.

Oh i also ended up with 2 x 5p off petrol coupons i think i got the person before me as well as mine :)

Planning a weekend of cooking- chicken soup for the freezer and some flapjacks i think, maybe cakes and scones as well. That will be snacks for next week taken care of.

    things to do today
    - check banks
    - update spreadsheet
    - review christmas list
    - i also want to check my DFD
    - Tell hubby not to put petrol in the car without the vouchers

  • woohoo christmas is paid for!! i joined the make £10 a day challenge or in my case £5 a day and i have just gone over my £155 target

    £36 from the penny jar
    £60 from ebay sales
    £140 from the old jewellery

Total -£236 which pays for Christmas.

Plus ive still got some things left to list on ebay and a few items due to end on Fri so it might go up a bit more before the end of the month.

Hopefully i will be able to do the same next month.

  • well not a good day today the brakes went on the car (our car not my company one) and the garage have just phoned up to say its going to cost £420 to fix (I checked with my dad who is a service manager and he said its actally a very good price) although im really annoyed and p1ssed off, its not as bad as it could have been, no one was hurt and with the extra money we have earnt its not going to make as big a dent as it could have but that means that we have to save for christmas again.

So terrible news but the damage has been limited due to the extra cash we have raised.

Had to work from home as hubby needed a lift to work, which is nice as its peaceful and im going to take the opportunity to nip to the post office and post some ebay items.

    Never mind onward and upward!

  • Just received an email from moneysupermarket saying im owed £30 for switching accounts and its due before the end of Dec. Ive just sent off my co-op switching form so that should be £200 within the next 4 months and im owed £15 from a cash back site before the end of Oct. Staying positive.

Im off to pick up hubby from school, where hes volunteering, and then picking up the car which has hopefully been fixed by now. Going to check ebay and sort a pile of stuff for hubby to list at the weekend.

Hi SC nice to get cashback - but yes sometimes the wait can feel quite long.

I've just made 2 orange loaf cakes... trying to reduce my chocolate spend, test out my food processor and use up some of my surplus oranges... bought too many over the last few weeks. They are currently cooking but should be yummy as I've made them before!
