Hi all.
Hope someone can help with with this query.
As a seller can i give a discount using the invoice other than a postage discount?
There is a section below for seller charges +/- but i haven't been able to work out how to use it.
Many thanks:)

If you offer free p&p you cannot discount from invoice.
If you don't, then just mark the discount in the seller discount box, but don't hit revise, just hit send!0 -
Thanks for that, but it's not working.
Basically, other than a discount on the postage, can a seller NOT give whatever discount they like?
ie. i would like to use this area to manage my multiple sales ie. buy one item for £1.99, buy 2 for £2.99 etc.
i was then hoping to discount (not on postage) my invoice by £1.00 if a buyer bought 2 items.
Does that make sense? How do other sellers manage this?0 -
From memory you have to put a minus - sign in the box before the amount. Don't press recalculate (that resets it back). Preview the invoice before you send it to make sure its OK.0

Hi. thanks again.
Tried that as well but does not work either.
Don't know if it's me or if you just cannot do it?0 -
You cannot discount lower than the actual selling price.
As theonlywayisup says in post 2 you would have to have some postage on there to do a discount.0 -
The only thing is, if the postage is less than the discount then i can't offer enough discount - as in this case:(.
I have refunded the difference thru paypal anyway.
So is there a way to manage/offer selling discounts (but NOT postage discounts) as you list?0 -
Might be able to have a variation of the listing or a seprate listing ~ pack of two at £2.99 etc.
Unless some knows a better way its all I can think of.0 -
This is an issue Ebay have never addressed. As I offer free P&P I cannot discount. If you buy 10 of the same item from me you have to pay full price. Ridiculous. If a buyer contacts me for a price before they bid, I list their items on a 'reserved for buyer abc123' type listing. But, the only other way, if you are happy with variations, is to list as No Eye Deer says. You can do this with variations listings.0

I either do as theonlywayisup or if the buyer has already purchased the items and then asks I ask them to pay in full and then refund straight away through Paypal - I have to admit that it is such a stupid and time consuming way around it!0

Yes, and it means Ebay get their fees on the full sale price, not the discount you apply retrospectively.0
