First Direct and Barclays

I was suprised today when I made a payment from my First Direct account to my Barclays account and noticed that the payment transferred immediately - as in, even though its a weekend, I could see the payment from FD in my BB account as soon as I had logged in. It's dated the 12th, but apparently is already cleared.
Have BB taken over FD or something? I thought it took 2 - 3 days to appear normally.
