might not be thr right place but i guess you are all familiar with this scenario...
reversing out of a car park space with nothing to my right, a parked car to my left, and when i set off....nothing behind me.
as i was just clearing the parked car on my front, looking at that and glancing behind to make sure still clear...heard a small beep then crunch.
some old dear had driven up in my blind spot, right into where i was reversing into and sat there till i hit her (at 0 mph btw)
she was all doddery and confused so i just gave her my details, checked both vehicles for the damage...dent on drivers side wing about 30 cm diameter on hers! nothing on mine, not even a scrape??? (I do have bendy plastic bumpers though)
my question is this, did she have any input into the accident by putting herself into the path of a vehicle which was reversing and well commited to the manouver, and not making any attemp to remove herself from it?
im not being mean or trying to get out of this, ive only got 6 years no claims as only been driving 6 years but just dont feel right taking the whole rap? i guess the insurers wont see it this way, so hence making enqiuries.
appreciate your comments:)

If she wasnt moving its your fault.

If you reversed into her and she was not moving then it is your fault. You need 6 pairs of eyes to avoid the silly old dears with tunnel vision that should not be allowed into supermarkets and their car parks I am afraid.0

I recently went on a safe driving/accident avoidance course.
One of the tips that the instructor gave me was to reverse into parking spaces - there are a lot of minor accidents when people reverse out of parking spaces.0 -

Then you smash chunks off your car trying to get the shopping to the boot.
There is a reason everyone parks the way they do.0 -

Parking spaces leave barely enough room to open car doors, let alone get a trolley of shopping down.
It really is not that difficult to look and reverse out of spaces safely.
People reversing into spaces take about 3 times the amount of time to park and would cause further jams in already overly packed car parking facilities.
If you were driving so slowly and looking behind you when reversing, how did you not see the persons car?0 -
if someone parks in a dangerous place waiting for a accident then they may have something to blame, but sadly the majority of the blame will be set on you as you were not aware of your surroundings.0
