    Lots of comments!

I agree that it's all down to market forces, and they will charge whatever they think they can get away with - and its legal.

But I think we can all agree that they way that they do it is rather immoral - not that O'Leary will give two hoots about that!

Any system for comparing prices - whether it be a manual comparison, or even MSE's own Flightchecker - will only pull out Ryanair's basic price. In MY case, the flightchecker reported costs of 1p per seat.

Now 'I' wouldn't mind if company's left off standard charges that are applicable to all eg. government charges - we all know what they are, and all know that they need to be added to seat costs, whatever company you go to. This is the same as magazines often quoting VAT exclusive prices - not a problem since you always know it's 17.5% VAT on top.

BTW.....I've just checked my confirmation E-mail. It lists all the names, but has ATD against all of them - am guessing this stands for 'adult' although I clearly requested 2 adult and 3 child seats.

    Is this significant?

I've heard these budget airlines can be really funny if the booking details are not exactly correct. Do I need to do anything about this?

    Cheers,
    Don

I know that you can now book Ryanair flights through https://www.ebookers.com so I wonder how all these extra charges work when booking through them.

Don,Ryanair no longer call families up first, they charge a fee now!!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

https://www.skyscanner.net does a good job of including the REGULAR taxes & other charges Pikeyair charge. it's not so good on baggage / priority boarding / insurance / credit card charges that Pikeyair sneak in
