hi Carmen
Just did a quick google and found the following info on the http://www.calorieking.com/ website:
100g sultanas is about 320 calories, little or no fat
50 raisins (thats 50 raisins not 50g) is 78 Cal, small amount of fat (negligible)
Hope that helps0 -
Most Raisins have either veg oil or hydrogenated oil coated on them,I`m certain I`ve seen a thread about them on here.Aparrantly you can get them without the oil coating, but I`ve had a look at every different packet in Tesco`s and Asda but all had some sort of oil on them.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

On the plus side, dried fruit counts towards your five-a-day (though, like juice, you may only be allowed to count one portion).
I see dried fruit the same as (unsalted) nuts. You don't want to go mad, but a small amount each day is very good for you.
See here for a nice summary of the benefits of raisins:

If you're on a calorie-controlled diet, you may want to reduce/consider (but not eliminate) the amount you eat. Otherwise, I don't see a problem - there are certainly worse things to snack on.Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0 -
The big tubs of Sun-Maid Raisins don't have any oil added to them.

I think that 1 un-dried fruit and 1 dried fruit of the same kind have the same basic nutritional values except that the dried fruit is missing most of its water.
There is little difference between eating 10 grapes and 10 sultanas except the water in the grapes will help fill you up more.
You do tend to eat more natural sugars when eating dried fruit because you eat more individual fruits to help fill you up.Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.0 -
Thank you all...:rotfl: @ emeraldbugle!0
