how can i make them without one? if i cut the potato into think slices and oven with oil will they come out any good or will they be like roast potatoes?

I do this with left over new potatoes... Just slice and fry them in a little butter and oil! You could do that with larger potatoes
  • i use a smallish wok - for deep frying stuff - works a treat
saving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
    made loads last year

no ours used to be like chips. no batter or anything. all the recipes i have found are about soaking in milk? i dont think ours were like that

might try frying in a wok that should work thanks
