No, but I've used a French Polisher in the London area.

Why does nationality come into it? Does it matter when they came 'across here?'

when you ask worth the risk, what do you mean? if its because there cheaper, do you get what you pay for?

I know a builder in London and he has had to put right quite a few jobs that have been done by Polish. Of course that's not to say that they are all cowboys, but some of the stories have been horrendous. Some Polish builders built an extension and did not put in the proper foundations so the extension is unsafe

You don't need to be Corgi registered to be a plumber.

I think you could ask the same question about any builder and get the same response!
The benefit of using a pole/east european is that they tend to be much more polite and if they screw up it has only cost you 45p.....

For fixing a toilet you don't, for fixing a central heating system, depending on what work is required, you may well need to be CORGI registered.

I've heard lots of good reports, but your risk is that their work, which might be perfectly acceptable in Poland, does not meet UK regulations.
