comparing chalk with cheese?

Hi

eon gas tariff terminology: first unit rate then next unit rate

edl gas tariff terminology: daily standing charge then unit rate

The above results in making price comparison very difficult

Is this classic confusion marketing?

Are they breaking any regulator requirements for clarity?

your advice please

Clifford

  • No just different ways of doing the same thing, edf have a dialy standing charge and all units read charged at the advertised unit rate, whereas eon and many of the other companies adopt no standing charge unit rates, a set number of units each quarterly bill charged at a higher rate, the majority of consumption charged at the lower rate, both companies then discount cost of consumption based on charges for the customer opting to pay by direct debit.

It's not making comparison any more difficult if you use a comp site to do the work for you.
