car insurance cancelled

Hi
I am having a real head ache.
Insurance 1
We took out car insurance with green insurance for my partner with me as a named driver, after paying my deposit i got my online policy, after checking this i realised the claims i listed on the comparison site i used weren't there. Realising this would affect the amount, i wrote explaining and asking to cancel as it was obvious the quote would go up.
I then a week later received a letter saying they were cancelling as i hadn't added my claim, but i have already told them this
i have re insured since with another company. Green are saying i didnt cancel, but i sent a letter and cancelled the direct debit. What can i do?
Insurance 2
I took out insurance for my car, with Igo4 insurance, with my newly passed daughter and my partner as named drivers again, comparison website again. The quote was really really good, £1000 cheaper than the nearest, this time all is right on it, but today i got a letter saying they are cancelling with no reason, but i am assuming they have mis quoted the price, but i would of preferred them to requote and let me cancel. how can i rectify this. I cant get through on the phone which is really annoying, so have emailed. What can do now?
Thanks for any advice

You need to sort out problem 1 (the cancellation by green), as this may be the reason behind your problem no 2. (Igo4 may have discovered you have a cancelled policy on your history which you haven't disclosed to them.
Contact green to resolve the cancellation issue - if you cannot do so, then you are going to have many problems in future taking out car insurance with this cancelled (by the insurer) policy on your history.0 -
Well I have the 2nd problem sorted after finally getting through on the phone, as i thought they mis quoted, and according to their manager i do not need to state i have had insurance cancelled as they wont be recording it, phew.
Now just green insurance to sort out, thats going to be more fun

This is very unusual, note down the name of the manager who told you this and the time and date of the call somewhere safe. You'll probably need to refer back to it when they realise they've made a mistake!0 -

As advised already, you really need to get this confirmed in writing now!
And this advice from Igo4 will not stand up with any other insurer should you want to switch in future.0
