Sat/Sun 10th/11th Sept - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Morning all,
Hope no one minds me starting the thread today but I am up & raring to go! A la DNMS style, I hope you're all up for it with me
I've been a bit slack with my list the past couple of days so really need to crack on & do what I need to do, so, here goes:-

Room for a newbie?!
I've been reading these threads with interest for a while, and have been doing my own lists - only really at the weekends as my weekday routines don't really change!!
So, for this weekend, I intend to:- [STRIKE]Ebay some bits and pieces[/STRIKE] Upon investigation, it seems the bits I want to get rid of are not very good sellers on Ebay... I have one thing I know that should make a decent amount but I'm going to wait til nearer Xmas for that I think
- [STRIKE]Take Music Magpie stuff to PO[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Take the rubbish in my car to the recycling centre[/STRIKE]
- Go for a bike ride - free exercise
- Study, study, study - may not seem very mse but the exam cost me over £100 a time til I pass!!
- [STRIKE]Food Shop - minimal[/STRIKE]Did cost slightly more than anticipated, but I had to get some extra stuff to help with studying - ie coloured pens and a jotter!!!
This list is easily do-able over the weekend, maybe even most of it today - I will report back later with how I get on

Ixia - Glad you had a good time last night, sometimes I think it's good to have a night off the thread so you don't feel like you're posting the same stuff all the time!
Frank - Always room for a newbie here, welcome! What are you studying?
Wannabe - Really sorry to hear about your cat, I lost a pet recently too
It's hard, especially when others say stupid things like "It's just a *insert animal here*" Was he or she old? Mine was still so young which makes it even harder I think xx :idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Hiya Pernicious, thanks for the welcome

I'm slightly ashamed to say I'm studying Financial Planning!!! Should be good at the money malarky, but unfortunately not. And due to the nature of my job, I can't afford to get any worse at it!!

Hehe don't be ashamed, it turns out there are quite a few accounts people on here (myself included!) so it seems career has nothing to do with it, or maybe I've just gotten so used to spending money that's not mine that I feel I can just spend my own like that too!
Hello & welcome! I know what you mean about procrastinating on this site, at least it's an informative way to procrastinate I guess :rotfl: I definitely find this thread helps me so I hope you get the same out of it.I always look at this thread but thought I'd join in today inspired by Frank being brave and joining in!!
Feels good to have a list to prompt me into action ..... must try and stay off this site to get it all done
Have a great day everyone :j

Wannabee, sorry to hear about your cat, sending you hugs.
this weekend i have:
washed two loads of laundry on cheap leccy
pegged outside, but now inside as it was spitting, feel like the HC bit today will be the pegging in and then outside
online accounts updated and reconciled.
food from cupboards/ freezer
harvested some lovely red tomatoes and a courgette
harvested the pairs from the tree
weeded some plant pots and given to the g-piggies
need to:
get rest of laundry done on cheap leccy and peg outside if possible
tidy around and make flat smart in case of any viewings
pamperfy myself, thereby saving money and using up some toiletries.
have a lovely weekend everyone0
