Im off to Haven, I know its abit naughty but does anyone know what drinks you can buy for the kids in there. Last time it cost a fortune - they drink loads.
Thanks, any other tips would be great

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

I went to the prestatyn one at easter and if I remember correctly they don't have fruit shoots in the bar it is capri sun or slushies. Capri sun can be bought from the supermarket in packs of 10 cheaply and if there are fruit shoots you can always fill your own bottles with squash and take them in. During the day obviously you can drink what you like and just carry your bottles about with you. The alcohol at the bar is pretty pricey I noticed versus Butlins and normal pub cost so maybe have one or two before you leave if you are drinking!
I would also cook your own food to save money and bear in mind the fridges have very little space in them. It could also be quite a trek from your caravan to the main area so take snacks and stuff in a bag to avoid forking out from vending machines.0 -
hi most have glasses of squash at the bar, fruitshoots or slushpuppys, milshake shakes recently been to blackpool haven and they had vending machine with bottles of all varieties of coke can't think what else but to be honest i always take a bag out in the night with bottles of pop for the older kids and flavour water or even a sports bottle filled with drink for the little ones and a load of snacks some places have said something but ive said its because they can not have to much sugar so the drinks available aint suitable so i bring my own drinks/snacks for them if its a problem we will leave and they just walk off but the adults buy drinks so the table has a glass or 2 on it, depending on how long you going and the ages of the children you could get the yard of drink on the first night no good if you will end u carrying them but if you have a pram and can pop in a bag over handle can refil with squash before you go out in the evening,hths.0

If the kids are ok with glasses what I do is get the first drink from the bar, Fanta orange or coke and just top it up with your own for the rest of the night. Just avoids any problems with over zealous staff although I personally have never had any problems with my own crisps and nuts etc on the table. The vending machines also stock the 500ml Fanta orange and I think 7up so I wouldnt imagine any problem with those as you can claim you got them from their machine. What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
A few cans of lager in a bag under the pushchair makes it a cheap night out too.Find a nice dark corner to sit in with 1 pint bought from the bar to get the glass and your sorted all night. Buy capri sun from a supermarket and take them in your hand bag/changing bag, nice and cheap.( Not that ive done this before, ofcourse.)0

At Perranporth it's 5 Alive.......not capri sun or fruit shoots

hi
yes i do the same - i take school water bottles and fill with milk (my 2 only drink milk and they don't sell that at the bar). This time at Haven Prestatyn i took refilled fruit shoots bottles in - but i did notice they did not sell them at the bar but they did sell them in the shop. We had them on the table but the bar staff collecting glasses / taking orders at tables for drinks did not comment.
also i take another one with wine in for me and buy one at the bar and then refill my glass..
DH buys pints from the bar so they are getting quite a bit of money from us...

I was also wondering about this as we are going soon. At night do they search your bags? I was planning on taking snacks and drinks for all the kids as it will cost a fortune if I don't, in our group we have 9 kids so I'm really hoping we can sneak it all in.0

They didnt search our bags when we went. In general, if you take stuff in a bag from the shop on the complex (SPAR at mablethorpe) the generally leave you alone. The worst that can happen is, they say you cant take it in, and you put it in your van!Debt Free By Olympics 2012

Thanks, we are going Haven so if they've got a spar on site that's good, hopefully it wont be too pricey

As a side note, I never mentioned the stuff in the bag had to be from SPAR.....
slip in a few cheeky fruit shoots from morrisons into the SPAR bag.... £1.44 for 8 at the minute, and the wife filled a lucazade sport bottle with vodka and a touch of orange to make it look like lucazade orange!Debt Free By Olympics 2012
