Hi I had backed up my PC so the HD could be replaced now when i come to restore the back up every thing works except the music on the media player. i keep on getting this message;
"Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct."
Help please
It was and is windows 7 OS and was backed up on to an external HD

have you tried manually configuring media player to where the music files are located?0

organise>libraries>manage libraries>add library0

do you have the music files on your PC?
eg in the default C disc my music
They are in C;\user.....
that is were they were coped to by the pc when i used the windows restore
every thing else works after i copied and pasted from C:\user to the correct location

have you tried manually dragging the music folder over to WMP?0

BUT i have copied and pasted the music i have saved on the lappy on to the pc and that works!!!
so everything is now sorted thanks

good news
If im honest Ive never relied on back up software
i have W7 back up running but if i was doing a reinstall i would back everything up too0
