If they wont give you an overdraft, then I would think that it is likely that any payments which would take you into a overdraft would get returned, they probably will charge you for telling you this and put the charges on the account which will bring you into a unauthorised overdraft where they will then ask for immediate payment.
Never been in that boat, but guessing this is what would happen.0 -
So why did you spend the money if they hadn't taken it?Im going to be 36 overdrawn due to mothercare taking a payment a month late
I ask the question because you seem to be blaming others when, regardless of anything Mothercare have done, a little bit of attention to your account would have told you not to spend those funds on something else.
If you can't get an authorised overdraft then that will probably be that. Borrow £40 from parents etc and pay it in to the account avoid charges. Thanks for that, i cant get an od, i was lookung for an emergency one really?0 -
Phone them, the number is on their website. The customer service I get is fantastic, I had something come out 5 times taking me well over my limit and they sorted it very quickly for me.Life happens, live it well.0

...................Or cancel the direct debit and get on the phone to Mothercare to arrange alternative payments.0

You need to keep a better track of the payments coming out of your account as a payment being taken late shouldn't cause you problems. The money should be in the account for the date it was originally due to be taken.0
