Claiming PPI against Lombard

Hello guys,
I'm in need of assistance, I've started a claim against Lombard (Lombard north central plc as previously known part of the RBSG) to reclaim PPI from a loan taken out, now having used mse questionnaire letter, I got a prompt response to inform me, that part of the company was sold of to Abbey National several yrs ago which in turn was taken over by Santander, who own assests, liabilities and staff.............
is this a delaying tactic or do I go ahead and proceed with the claim against Santander,

I would very much appreciate some direction

When did you take the loan out?

And did you approach Lombard yourself or did somebody else arrange the loan?

loan taken out 1998, yes i approached Lombard myself to resolve PPI,
vehicle loan was taken out through car dealers, underwritten by Lombard..!
Loan fully paid up in 2005.

I think you are unlikely to be able to take it further, then.

There was no GISC code in 1998 and so the dealer cannot be taken to FOS whilst Lombard was neither an insurer nor a bank (even though its parent was) and so unless it voluntarily submitted to FOS jurisdiction it is not going to happen.
