Great way to earn money!

Hi, I've stumbled across the age old student way of making extra cash - experiments. Whilst people only talk about the medical experiments, there are actually plenty of psychology studies around offering £10 per hour. All you have to do is answer what you see on the computer screen most of the time - so its not even like you'll even like you'll be mentally traumatised (unless images of shapes scare you) I've made LOADS doing it so far, and earned enough doing 1/2 hour ones for book tokens to enable me to buy all my course books AND gifts for myself and others!
You can find them advertised on places like Gumtree, and you're local information boards.

  • Unfortunately I'm in Cardiff, and all the Pscyhology students tend to get these as they are willing to do them for free. They get research credits that are required for their studies. Thanks for the info though!
  • Just want to add that this has nothing to do with bikes, as I unfortunately found out :S

  • I've never seen anything like this on my local Gumtree... However, I did take part in a study recently, though there was no guaranteed pay - only entry into a cash prize draw.

Payment varies massively according to department, and some don't pay at all.

Also, they aren't all as simple as watching shapes on screens. Some of the experiments I used to do were pretty nasty, and I chose not to use regular volunteers for them. So make sure you understand what is expected of you before you start.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
