Emirates - can't check in online - will seats be available?

Hi,

I've never flown with Emirates so I don't know how their ticketing works but I've recently taken the opportunity to pre-book my seat online. I can't check in online as I don't have a printer to print the tickets so does that mean my seat has not been confirmed when I check in at the desk?

No, your seat request is in the system and is likely to be honoured when you check in at the airport. However, on-line requests are never definite and they may give you a different seat.

Printing or not printing your boarding pass does not make any difference to this.
  • Emirates is a "Ticketless " airline , you would only be printing out your email confirmation of your flight booking , when you book online you are given the choice of making your seat selection and when booking is confirmed , after payment , your seats are booked !
When you get to check in give your booking confirmation reference number and/or your passport/s across and then look forward to your flight with Emirates !

    Whats Your Excuse ?
  • I recently flew with Emirates and also did not have a printer in order to print off my boarding ticket it was not a problem As was mentioned earlier just hand over your passport and enjoy the flight. They are a really super airline. Have flown with them on a number of occassions and nothing is ever to much trouble.

Yes, Emirates are an excellent airline especially if you can get onto one of the new A380 services. Their in-flight entertainment system is the best I have seen anywhere

The printout is more for your benefit than theirs. It's useful to remind you which flight you are on but they don't really need it.

OP: You can still check in online only you won't be able to print out your boarding passes.

Join the check in queue for those that have checked in online anyway (it's usually shorter than the regular queue) and they'll print you new passes.

This is incorrect. When you check in online you now print out your own boarding pass as mentioned above.
