UKPC Parking Charge - accidentally parked in disabled bay

What a 17 yr old thicko is suddenly the manager (or PA to the Manager) of Mothercare?
The more complaints the shops get might make them try and reconsider, and if sales revenues fall they can only blame themselves.
Don't send anything to the PPC, that is where it's going to get ignored and a standard "thanks for your appeal, after careful consideration we have decided to reject the appeal, the charge has now increased to £XXX" letter in return,
not only the shops contact the Shopping Centre/Retaiil Park site management and ask them why they have allowed PPC's to rip off their customers. as in £80 or so for overstaying a few minutes in a FREE car park, with a ludicrously low time limit0 -
My Daughter had a similar experience, i suggest the following.
The car park owner or UKPC will have to take you to court and show that they have suffered a loss. They will not wish to do this as they will have to attend court. Although unpleasant just ignore them (if you wish you can reply and ask them to quantify their loss) they will give up. Worst case is that they take you to court and win, Ok so it will cost you a few pound more than the initial charge but not much more. They gave up in our case.0 -
Its a case of least said soonest mended. The less you contact them the less begging letters you will get.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Thanks all, we're a lot more comfortable now and have been advising friends with similar problems to do the same and check out this forum.
First few letters have arrived, strangely both final notices delivered in the same week. Filed away and fingers crossed that everything follows other's experience

What more do you need to know?
Roughly how long would it takes before they forget about the charge?0 -
They don't 'forget' as such...they just give up and go away and pester someone else with their chain letters.
They have worked out that if you haven't paid by the time they send you 5/6/9/11/13 letters threatening all sorts of horrors then you're never going to pay and as such any more effort/cost will be wasted.
Sensible, if you think about it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0
