I'm doing Primary Ed in Manchester. The best tip that I can give you is not to pretend to know it all - the interviewers don't expect you to. Read Every Child Matters and Look on the times Educational Suppliment site https://www.tes.co.uk.
The TES site has forums called the staffroom and the prospective student teacher forum will be very useful to you. just make sure you are clued up about the issues teachers are facing at the moment.
Hope that helps! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -
I'd guess with the 'surprise' one that you'll get a flipchart or SOMETHING to use for visual aids (it's a well know fact, isn't it, that we retain more if we see something as well as hear it?)
So you might want to practice a) writing big but legible in the vertical plane and b) drawing quick and fun illustrations. Both of which should stand you in good stead as a primary teacher!
I still hold to the 'Remember the Deaf Old Lady at the Back' advice. Whatever words do come out, please don't mutter ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
