Isn't waiting rubbish!

Gah!
I am such an impatient person. We went to view the house that I posted about earlier in the week (one yr+ on market, no offers). EA has mentioned that they had a viewing on 6th Jan and they seem very keen and are going for a second viewing on Saturday.

Meanwhile, we don't even have a mortgage in place and won't do for probably the next couple of weeks unless my dad (guarantor/joint applicant) can come down on Saturday and we can get a mortgage sorted then (unlikely).

I know, we should have waited til we had a mortgage to view, but this house just seemed perfect but on the market for so long with no offers we were curious to see why there had been no offers.

It was perfect. Slightly odd as the bathroom is downstairs, but with an easily maintainable 90ft garden, conservatory, utility room, kitchen with all appliances including dishwasher!! I was in house heaven!! Lovely couple selling as well.

We certainly need to view more houses so that we can see what sort of an offer to put in if it is still available in a couple of weeks time but I am so excited and impatient and I feel all :T :T :T

It was the first house - don't worry too much, just go and see loads to kill time and in preparation for your dad coming down.

I love viewing houses, it's by far the best bit. The real hand-wringing starts after you've had an offer accepted!

Downstairs bathroom explains a bit of why it's been on for so long, but I don't have a particular problem with those. :)

You're in a strong position: make sure the agent doesn't manage to make you feel like you're not - if other buyers materialise then you may be best served saying that you'll leave the place to them and get the agent to show you a different property - then when the other buyers disappear you're back in an even stronger position (and the agent won't try it on again!).

Whatever you do don't let the agent think the house is perfect for you - drone on to him about the downstairs bathroom and all the other negtives - he'll start to think he's got to sell it to you or noone'll ever buy it!
