Ok price it in £ if you like, when it doubled from £500 to over £1000 per ounce recently, some fools will still be saying "but gold doesnt pay a dividend" when it doubles again to £2000.

Price it in goats cheese if want, you cant argue with a trend as strong as gold and silver going up.
so you want to ignore that the value of those currencies has been diluted. fair enough.

i don't believe gold is a good or bad investment, i'm indifferent. what i find amusing is that you're desperate enough to try and convince a few users on an internet forum that gold is the only way forward.

Its so funny when one of the property bulls and gold bears is so obviously losing a debate they always resort to " I dont care any way" or "a few users on an internet forum wont make any differnce", as if anyone ever thought otherwise.

Whats the point of debating anything if you thought in such a childuish way?

I am a property bear and a gold and silver bull. I find it very interesting how when someones so obviously wrong they like to say Im not a bull or a bear, I dont have an opinion.

Lets get one thing straight if you have an opinion that you think one asset class will go up or down then you could be called a bull or a bear. Its a trading term, why are you on a forum debating these things if you are not interested?
i've not said gold or silver is a good or bad investment. i don't care, it's not for me.
i've not said property will go up (it probably will nominally though), i've said it won't crash. it's not that difficult to grasp you know

i come here for the entertainment value and the comical pots by the usual characters on here.

So you do have an opinion? You just dont like to debate gold and silver? So why do you keep posting on a thread all about houses priced in ounces of gold?

I think you are very interested in gold but wish you werent.
  • So you do have an opinion?

    Who, chucky?

Never does. Just lambasts everyone elses.

    you're entertaining me.

if i have ££200k. would i buy a house or would i invest in gold?
i'd buy a house because i need somewhere to live, that doesn't mean gold is a good or bad investment - it's not my priority that's all.

    <rolls eyes>

That's like saying if I had the choice of receiving my wages in gold or sterling, I'd choose sterling as my bills don't accept payment in gold.

Once again, chucky dances around, no doubt getting ready to start chasing his own tail.

If you've already got a home, like people generally already have cash before they invest in gold, where would you put that 200k? Lean towards housing as an investment, or gold, or fine wines, garlic, carrots, equities, oil, coal, diamonds...

We know you would lean towards housing, and you believe housing will rise in value, regardless of your "I'm neutral on everything" stance, as thats precisely what you personally do, as you tell us you are a BTL landlord.

if you had bothered to try and read you might have seen what my thoughts were but instead you got all excited yet again when you saw a post by chucky.

    Speak for yourself Chucky.

So you are seriously trying to argue that if person A put £200K into UK property now and person B put £200K into gold and silver, person A would make better returns? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    you are very entertaining Chuck.

There is no way UK house prices will rise as much as gold and silver over the next few years. You go ahead thinking that and we will see who is right in a few years time:)
no that's not what i said.

do you want to have another go at reading the post and understanding basic english?
