HP Touchpad BUNDLE now in stock

I went in the CPW yesterday and was told they had had a delivery (Hull) and would only be selling as a bundle. I asked the price and thought he'd said £130-something. No reservations and they would not go on sale till 9am today. I asked about the 2 per customer and he said no it would be one per person only (both me and hubby wanted one).
I don't know why but I had a feeling so when the other half got in from work at 3-ish I sent him off to ask if they had any and as he is foreign he didn't understand all that they said to him so he rang me up and put the salesman onto me. The guy said the bundle was £150 (just under) which I was surprised at but didn't question. He said everyone was being told to come back at 9am Sat but he had a spare one already on the system and could sell it to my husband. Yay!!
Unwrapped it all and studied the receipt and noted it was for the Touchpad, the bundle plus a screen protector for £9.99. I wish I hadn't but I opened the screen protector which is basically a piece of plastic that sits on the screen much like the one you peel off when you get it LOL. Personally I don't see the point of the charging dock either but even though I have opened I will try to flog it on as we won't use it really. The case/cover was ok and doubles up as a stand. Still not over impressed with the £60 of extra kit but considered it worth it to get the Touchpad at last!!
Went off this morning expecting a huge queue at CPW but at ten to 9 only a couple of others hanging around. Chatted to a fella carrying a Touchpad who told me he had bought it yesterday after 5 and it was faulty so they were reserving one for him to exchange. I didn't let on my husband had bought one just expressed surprise they had been selling off the stock they had insisted was not available till Sat am!
Got in and noticed the person in front of me asked for the touchpad he had 'reserved'. Asked the other assistant for a Touchpad and he said 'that's it - sold out. We only had 2 left'. I told him my experience and he said he had been off and was not happy that staff were reserving for people plus selling them when they had told people to come back Sat am. I was very lucky to get the last one!
What irritated me was he offered me the bundle (no sign of the screen protector at all) and I asked if I had to buy it and he said no. So I just took the Touchpad. I nearly didn't turn up at all this morning because I couldn't afford another extra 60 quid but I thought I'd flog the bundle on Ebay or something. I think they were just getting rid of the extras for more than they normally sell them anyway knowing people would pay it to get the elusive Touchpad. Just to add the guy was brilliant and seemed quite miffed by some of the stuff the staff had done while he was off.
Anyway we are very grateful for the tip-off about CPW and delighted to have the gadgets. Word is there will be more coming but it's a guessing game. Hopefully our friend will tip everyone off again. Good luck to all those still hoping to grab one. Can't believe we did!!0 -

Amazon or a marketplace seller? Because I can tell you a horror story about the latter.the xoom can be obtained for £287 at costco which makes £250 for the touchpad madness. the xoom is as up to date as you can get in a tablet. its also googles primary development tablet for android updates etc.
the xoom also has a promotion on to get the free keyboard/mouse accessory.
at £89 the touchpad was a bargain - however for £250 its a very expensive tablet with no future.0 -

Xoom is lower spec than the touchpad - it only has a 1GHz processor, the Touchpad has a 1.5GHz (albeit underclocked to 1.2Ghz). Why pay more for less?
It was amazon itself

For those still looking;
Carphone Warehouse took delivery today!!!
I managed to get the last 32gb but about an hour ago they still had 16gb in stock selling with bundles - Hull St Stephens but King Edward St may also have had a delivery as they are the only 2 stores that get the tablets in.
Good luck!!!

None by me, in Birmingham. I've spoke to some of the most nasty, unhelpful, sales assistants ever today. I wouldn't buy from CPH is they paid me to take it away. GrrrrrI :heartpuls M.S.E.
