Next day holidays..Where?

I have looked ( and will continue to ) but cant find many bargains for real next day bargains.

I am not going for a week of two .

As long as it is hot I am not too fussed about destination.

Can anyone reccomend anywhere where I should look for real last minute bargains?

Thanks

Paul

PS I did a search of the forums but all seem to be looking at future bookings not actual last minute stuff.

Package holiday companies don't make money out of last minute bargains, so they try to sell holidays much further in advance to get their profit up front.

Getting what you want in advance at a good price is more of a bargain IMHO.

We used to go last minute & always found teletext to be excellent. Get some brochures from the travel agents so you have them to hand then check teletext -any offers you like the look of call up & get more details -check against the brochure & if it suits you ring other advertisers & barter the price down. They all ask what price you have been quoted & will then better it. Good luck.

    Thanks,

I know no one makes any money from last minute hols but I thought that if they have unsold hols then anything is better than nothing.
I will check teletext and last minute (plus others) and maybe the prices will get better as we get further from the holidays. if not well c'est la vie.

They've already made their money on the holidays they've already sold, there's more money in the strategy of encouraging advance bookings.

They've learn't this from the way easyJet and Ryanair operate, it is the way they operate now.

If you want to go in about two weeks you are in the end of September bit which can have good prices, perhaps have a search for a flight+hotel holiday.

  • I dont know, I must have been very lucky then, for 2 weeks over Easter school holidays this year 2 adults and a child booked a week before departure to Orlando with accommodation ( albeit 3*) for £1600 and got Dom republic last December 16 - 30 AI, once again 2 adults and child and that was £2300, people on the plane were paying that each.
