can you tell us your recipe? it may help work out what went wrong.
Pretty sure it isn't the flour, as I've never had problems with lidl flour in my bm.

Could be a number of reasons.
It might be that the flour was of a poor quality (but that's very unlike Lidl's) or the yeast may either have been not enough or stale.
It could be that you used too much salt or even that the salt and yeast came into contact before the mixing process began.
Did you add enough liquid? Different flours absorb differing amounts of liquid, you'll only know that through trial and error.
Did you cheat and sneak a peek while it was rising?
Was your panni on a flat surface? Was your kitchen hot or cold - the temperature of the room can make a difference to the performance of a bread machine.
Don't know about the Panni, but my bread machine came with it's own measuring cup and spoon and the instructions were very specific that I use *only* those measures. Well, yes, I did to begin with ... until I began experimenting and now I'm confident using other methods (ie scales and other measuring spoons) Did you measure accurately?
Don't be discouraged, have another go! Best of luck~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Are you sure the yeast is OK?
To check it, put a teaspoon of yeast and a halfteaspoon of sugar into a cupful of warm water, give it a stir and leave in a warm spot for 15 minutes. Within 15 minutes, it should have developed at least one inch of froth on top. If nothing happens within 30 minutes, the yeast is dud. Usually, no rising occurs because the yeast is dead, your ingredient quantities are not accurate enough, you have added too much or too little water, or omitted sugar (yeast needs sugar to prove) or because you have used non-bread flour (doesn't sound like this is the case).
If the yeast is OK, you know that it is one of the other issues.

Hi ,every one,I used the recipe that came with the machine
Large Loaf
1tsp yeast
500gm flour
1 tblsp sugar
1 oz butter1i/2 tbspmilk powder
11/2tsp salt 350ml water
To measure I used the measures that came with it,fresh flour ,the yeast came from an un opened tin but yes it was out of date although unopened ,could that be it ,cant believe this I have waited ages for this machine and I fail at my first attempt, thanks for helping need to get to the bottom of it ....thanks...0 -
My first efforts were disastrous!
Well, I can't see anything blindingly obviously wrong with the recipe - we'll see what Queenie and the gang think.
I think its worth testing the yeast as I have suggested - I have had in date yeast turn out to be dud, so a little check is worthwhile. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I am checking on the yeast as we speak will let you know the outcome of that one0

Another thought - was the butter melted before you added it? My recipe says melted butter. I actually use sunflower oil instead. I wonder if that might be affecting the recipe?

I think panasonic recommend using the packet yeast for breadmakers rather than fresh yeast. Try using that with the recipe in the book.0
