If a student gets married in the summer before starting university - are they independent regardless of age or does the 36 month rule still apply?
They also own property with their new spouse. They are under 25.

If a student is married before the start of the academic year (1st September) then they're counted as independent students and will have their spouse's income taken into account when applying for income assessed student finance rather than their parents income.
